Amy Macdonald, Jimmy Eat World and AJ Tracey are among the latest acts to be added to the TRNSMT line-up.

Over 50 artists have been added to the bill for the three-day music festival, which takes place in Glasgow Green between July 10 and 12.

Local star Macdonald will join the likes of Lewis Capaldi and Snow Patrol on stage on the festival’s Sunday line-up.

The Mr Rock & Roll singer said: “This will be my first TRNSMT and it’s amazing to be able to play a huge festival in the middle of my home town which has become such an important showcase for Scotland’s rich musical talent.

“I’m so excited to be back in front of the great Glasgow crowd and relish the challenge of proving just how much women can really rock on the big festival stage.”

The festival’s line-up had come under fire for a lack of women on the main stage.

Among the acts added today are several female-led acts including rising stars Beabadoobee, Georgia and Ms Banks, although most are spread across the secondary stages.

A number of up and coming Scottish acts have also been added to the line-up, featuring hotly-tipped indie trio Vistas, Glasgow sensation Joesef and Friday night headliners on the River Stage The Ninth Wave.

The Glasgow band said: “We’ve had a massive few years from the last time we played at TRNSMT (early on during the Saturday), playing with Chvrches at The Hydro, touring in Europe and the USA and releasing our debut album INFANCY. It’s brilliant to now headline a stage at this year’s festival!”

Garage star AJ Tracey, who impressed on the main stage last year, returns for 2020 after a year packed with arena shows off the back of hit single Ladbroke Grove.

Declan McKenna also returns this year, as well as Brit-nominated Irish songwiter Dermot Kennedy.

Alternative rock giants Jimmy Eat World are also heading for Glasgow Green, as well as Indie Legends Ash.

Ash drummer Rick McMurray said: “We’re super excited to be playing TRNSMT this summer as part of our 25th anniversary year. It will also be my first gig as a 45 year old so it’s a double celebration!”

The headline acts for the weekend are Lewis Capaldi, Liam Gallagher and Courteeners.
