Sunday Post journalists have been shortlisted in a series of categories at the Scottish Press Awards.

The nominations for the 44th awards, recognising the best of the country’s journalism, include 11 for The Post. They follow last year’s awards in which The Post was named Scotland’s Sunday Newspaper of the Year.

Chief reporter Marion Scott and journalist Jen Stout are nominated for Reporter of the Year. Marion is nominated for her coverage of key stories involving the safety of women and the way the justice system lets them down.

Jen Stout’s reporting from Ukraine, in which she told the human stories behind the war there, earned her recognition from the judges.

Our coverage of the war in Ukraine has also resulted in a nomination in the Journalism Team of the Year category.

Marion is also nominated for the Scoop of the Year award, for her interview with rape victim Denise Clair.

Two Sunday Post campaigns have won nominations. Our In Plain Sight campaign looked at the unrecognised toll of violence against women, while our Women’s Health campaign successfully called for the urgent appointment of Scotland’s first Women’s Health Champion to tackle a host of deadly health inequalities.

Janet Boyle’s health reporting – including a stark firsthand account from a crisis-hit A&E ward – has earned her a nomination in the Specialist Reporter of the Year category.

Both Janet and Marion are also nominated for the Nicola Barry Award, which recognises the best work by women journalists.

Jan Patience has been nominated for Arts and Entertainment Journalist of the Year, while Paul English’s work for The Sunday Post sees him shortlisted for the Feature Writer award.

Our sister titles The Courier in Dundee and the Press and Journal in Aberdeen are also shortlisted in a range of categories for this June’s awards.
