Do you have a Will? Make 2023 the year to do it.

Look back on 2022, did you achieve all you set out to do? Chances are we have put off some goals for yet another year – don’t let arranging your Will or Power of Attorney be among them.

Every adult in Scotland should have a Will, while a Power of Attorney is now more important than ever. Often both essential legal documents are on the to-do list but are put off until a later date. Why not make this your New Year’s resolution for 2023? And if you do, you will benefit from a very special POA price, which has 20% off until February 1.

Tony Marchi, principal at ILAWS Scotland, said: “At this time of year many people set New Year’s resolutions, however, most of these resolutions last for about three weeks.

“We are inviting people to set the resolution of writing a Will or arranging Power of Attorney as this one will last a lifetime!

“This is a New Year’s resolution you CAN achieve and it is sustainable.

“So, contact ILAWS before the end of the month and take advantage of the special prices which have been extended until February 1.”

Why should I have Power of Attorney?

A Power of Attorney allows you to put arrangements in place so that a nominated loved one, like a partner or spouse, can make important decisions for you when you are unable to. Here’s more about what a Power of Attorney can and cannot do.

Couples often become Attorneys for each other

Like writing a Will, arranging a Power of Attorney is easier – and cheaper – than you think. ILAWS is always working hard to give clients the best service at the most affordable cost and so has introduced a special discount – which will run until February 1.

Normally, a Power of Attorney (or POA) costs £240 plus the Scottish Courts registration fee of £83 (total £323). ILAWS has reduced this price by 20%. It is available to everyone who contacts ILAWS between now and February 1. This brings the cost down to just £192 plus £83 registration fee, total: £275.
