The passing of Andy Goram is very sad news.
I suppose it’s not a huge surprise, given the serious health issues he has had to endure in the past few months.
But it doesn’t make it any easier for anyone to hear that he’s passed away.
That’s especially the case for his former team-mates and for thousands of fans, not just from Rangers, but all his other clubs and the Tartan Army, too.
He was devoted to Rangers, of course, and he gave everything he had for that football club.
Andy was just brilliant during the nine-in-a-row era, and played a huge part in the success Walter Smith had with that squad.
It’s so heartbreaking to think that Walter is also no longer with us.
Many Light Blues supporters, and many former Rangers players, say he is the best goalkeeper the club has ever had.
Given that this year marks 150 years since the club was founded, that is a huge compliment.
The thoughts and prayers from the Dalglish family go to all Andy’s family and friends.
