However, Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali, speaking during podium celebrations of the Motostudent racing event last weekend at the Aragon racetrack in Spain, said: “The future is electric and we’re not far from beginning production of the series”, according to Corsa dI Moto.
Though Domenicali failed to elaborate on his statement, it does show a clear sign of intent for the company to produce an electric motorcycle.
Today we celebrated the first #PanigaleV4R out of the production line. Several top manufacturers have already released their own electric motorcycles, with companies such as Vespa and Harley-Davidson bringing their own plug-in bikes to market.
BMW has also showcased a series of electric concept scooters, including the C Evolution and Concept Link, while Arc unveiled its Vector – a fully electric motorcycle which includes a helmet with built-in heads-up display and a jacket which can warn you of potential collisions.
