Bungling Nicola Sturgeon landed herself in hot water just moments after being sworn in as Scotland’s new leader by posing for a selfie.
The First Minister had her picture taken with respected advocate Claire Mitchell in Parliament Hall next to the Court of Session before it was then posted on Twitter.
She was clearly unaware strict rules forbid any images being taken in the building. Those caught flouting the ban run the risk of being found in contempt of court.
A spokesman for the Scottish Court Service said: “Parliament Hall is considered to be part of the precincts of the court.
“Photography in Parliament Hall is not permitted.”
It was human rights lawyer Mitchell who put the image of her and the First Minster online.
Alongside the picture she wrote “First female First Minister of Scotland @NicolaSturgeon today @Parliament Hall just after being sworn in.”
She went on to add: “A security guard did come up to me, and I said to him ‘the First Minister made me do it’ which I think is one of my finest lines.”
