The Hateful Eight (January 8)
Nominated for three Golden Globes, The Hateful Eight is one of the most anticipated films of the year.
And the latest from Quentin Tarantino has already caused a stir despite only being released today.
The film is only being shown in selected cinemas nationwide after a row over screenings.
Odeon and Vue cinemas will be showing the film, starring Samuel L Jackson, Kurt Russell and Jennifer Jason Leigh, but you won’t be able to see it in any Cineworld cinema.
Distributor Entertainment Film said Cineworld had decided not to show it after objecting to a deal with Odeon to have the exclusive rights for London’s West End.

The Big Short (January 22)
Based on the non-fiction book of the same name, The Big Short tells the story of four men who saw the banking crisis coming and used it to their advantage, betting against the banks.
The four men are played by the stellar cast of Christian Bale, Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling and Brad Pitt.

Bolshoi Babylon (January 8)
This documentary takes a look behind the scenes of the famous Russian ballet troupe.
It tells the story of what goes on backstage at a time when the Bolshoi was having some serious issues – including its artistic director being attacked with acid.

The Revenant (January 14)
Leonardo DiCaprio is tipped to win a long-awaited Oscar for his portrayal of frontiersman Hugh Glass.
Attacked by a bear and left for dead by his hunting team, he treks through the bitter winter to find his way home to his family and to wreak revenge against John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy) who betrayed and abandoned him.

Spotlight (January 29)
Based on a series of true stories from The Boston Globe newspaper’s investigative team named Spotlight, this film follows an investigation into widespread child sex abuse cases around the city.
Released last year in the USA, Spotlight was widely regarded by critics as one of the best films of 2015.
It hits UK screens on January 29, starring Mark Ruffalo, Michael Keaton, Rachel McAdams, John Slattery, Stanley Tucci and Liev Schreiber.
