OVER the past few weeks, we’ve scoured the country for the best locations Scotland has to offer.

From stunning scenery to magnificent museums, delicious diners to heavenly hotels, our Scotland’s Gems series picked out the top spots in each area.

Now you can browse them all wherever you are thanks to our online version – perfect to bookmark for days out!

How to use the maps

Scroll down to view the area you’d like to explore.

You can click and drag the map, and also zoom in for a closer look.

If you want directions straight to one of our Gems, click on the marker and then the white arrow icon.

That’ll take you to Google Maps, type in where you are in the ‘From’ section and off you go!

There’s plenty to see and do in Scotland’s biggest city.

The West

From the islands way off the coast to places closer to Glasgow, there’s lots to explore.

The area stretching from Loch Lomond over to the Forth is fascinating and rich with history.

Our capital is the place to be during the festival season – and there’s plenty to offer throughout the rest of the year too.

The Borders

Rich in scenic beauty, this is a fascinating area for a day out.

The Lothians

If you fancy venturing out of Edinburgh, the surrounding area is well worth a look.

The Kingdom of Fife has beaches, scenic harbour towns and, of course, the famous St Andrews Golf Course.

Dundee, Perth and the surrounding area is a wonderful place to spend some time, whatever the weather.

There’s all sorts of great attractions as you head further north into Angus.

The Granite City has a bit of everything for you to explore.

North East

Castles, mountains, forests and even a former prison – this area is a great place to spend a few days.

Perhaps the most scenic part of Scotland, if not the world!
