Scotland’s national football team is making a return to the World Cup sticker album – after more than two decades out the picture.

Two pages in the official Panini sticker book have been set aside for Shelley Kerr’s women’s squad as they prepare to compete for one of football’s most coveted prizes.

The book, which has been popular with generations of football fans who collect and swap stickers, features players such as captain Rachel Corsie and midfield star Kim Little. The spread also features a team photograph and crest while the graphics on the album showcase a Saltire.

The Italian firm featured Scotland’s women’s team in its sticker album for the 2017 European Championships in the Netherlands. But the popular collector item is best known for its World Cup sticker collection, which last featured Scotland’s men team in France 1998.

Panini UK’s Mike Riddell said the collection has been launched at a time when the profile of the women’s game is so high.
