Henrik Stenson holds the Claret Jug after winning The 2016 Open in Troon
Royal Troon will celebrate the centenary of first hosting The Open by welcoming the Championship in 2023.
The course has been announced as the venue for The 152nd Open by the R&A, bringing the prestigious competition to the Ayrshire links for the tenth time.
It was last held in Troon in 2016, and was won by Swedish star Henrik Stenson.
