It’s been nine years since David Tennant played Doctor Who and, since then, he’s starred in Broadchurch as well as returned to the stage.
But it shows how enormous podcasts have become that David is having a bash at launching his own.
And it might be as an interviewer, rather than an actor where David’s career is heading. It will be if the type of guests he can pull in is anything to go by.
Since launching his chat-show style show, he has attracted huge names such as Mad Men star John Hamm, Hollywood actor Jennifer Garner and former PM Gordon Brown.
“I’m a lifelong Labour supporter and have known Gordon through that for years,” David explained.
“I ran into him again at a festival in Kirkcaldy, so I asked him and I suspect he felt he couldn’t say no.
“I love talking to actors, but wanted other voices. This is someone who ran a country – experience doesn’t come more fascinating than that.”
He’s also interviewed recent Oscar winner Olivia Colman – and teased out a spat she had with Wikipedia.
“They had my birthday as the wrong day, the wrong month, and eight years before I was born,” she explained.
“I emailed them, pretending it wasn’t me. I wrote, ‘I was at school with her and that’s not her birthday’. I didn’t want them to think I was being vain.”
He also interviewed one of his successors – Jodie Whittaker – and his latest guest is Gavin And Stacey star James Corden.
