New lease of life for Margaret after amazing 11 stone weight loss

Margaret Morrison is now literally half the woman she was

MARGARET MORRISON is half the woman she used to be – literally!

The 49-year-old, from Aberdeen, has lost a whopping 11 stone 7lbs… the equivalent of a whole other person.

Just two years ago, Margaret was a size 28 and struggled to find clothes to fit. She had take to painkillers with her on shopping trips and couldn’t wear heels for fear they would snap.

Now, she’s a svelte size 10 – with a huge collection of shoes and a shopping addiction!

“I feel absolutely amazing,” Margaret said. “And I look so different that people I haven’t seen for a few years don’t recognise me.

“It’s crazy how much losing weight can change not only your appearance but your attitude too.”

The TV picture editor, who owes her dramatic weight loss to a helping hand from Scottish Slimmers, added: “I think my downfall is that I’m just greedy.

“And I love carbs and crisps and sweets and cakes.

“Before, I just didn’t have an ‘off’ switch. I would open a tub of ice cream and struggled to stop after just one portion.

“But now, I’m in control.”

Margaret had successfully slimmed down back in 2000. But the weight slowly crept back on.

By January 2015, she decided the time was right to do something about it.

“It’s one thing to know you need to lose weight, but quite another when you need to lose as much as I did and knowing it’s going to be a long road.

“This time, though, I was ready. The extra weight was restricting me. On a sunny day I couldn’t go for a walk because I’d get so breathless.

“And something as simple as shopping or going to a concert meant I’d need to take painkillers because my joints would get so sore.

“Looking back, I’m not surprised – I was carrying an extra person!”

Margaret signed up for Scottish Slimmers classes and followed the recipe meal plan.

Within 20 months, she’d gone from 22 stone to just under 11.

“The best bit has been shopping and having such a choice of clothes in my size,” she said.

“And I have enough sparkly heels to cover next year and probably the one after that. Being so heavy, I couldn’t wear high shoes so it’s a novelty.

“I’ve also added walking boots to my collection because now I walk everywhere… something I could never have dreamed of a few years ago.”

Margaret added: “I keep a couple of my old size 28 tops, just for the days when I need some motivation. They used to be tight but now I can wrap them around myself three times!

“Now it’s all about maintaining the weight loss because I’m very aware I could put it back on.

“I walk a lot and eat healthier, smaller portions, limit the luxuries and save desserts for when I’m out for dinner. At least then it’s just one slice of cheesecake instead of the whole lot!”
