Inverness-based Amy Hamilton tries to get out and enjoy the great outdoors as much as she can alongside her 9-5.

Hoping to inspire others to do the same, she shares her favourite spots to explore in her Highland home and across Scotland on her Instagram page, @amys_adventures10.

We challenged her to name her top three so you can visit them yourself.

Wild camping in Knoydart

Imagine waking up to this view. Image: Amy Hamilton

Knoydart has to be one of my favourite places in Scotland. It is so remote. You can get a boat in from Mallaig or walk in from Kinloch Hourn to Barrisdale. Once in your life I recommend planning an expedition here.

Climbing on Stac Pollaidh

This is one of Amy’s favourite climbs. Image: Amy Hamilton

I highly recommend hiring a guide if you don’t have the skills to do this yourself. Climbing in Scotland is incredible and there are so many iconic places to climb. The whole area of Assynt is beautiful with insane views out west. Scotland is beautiful, get out and see it for yourself!

Wild swimming in Coire Àrdair

The perfect place to cool off on a warm day. Image: Amy Hamilton

Climb up to the lochan in Coire Àrdair to view the magnificent crags of Creag Meagaidh. I feel the need to swim here every time I visit, it makes me feel so small this world. There is a path all the way and a perfect day out for most people with a reasonable level of fitness.
