Prince Harry will be on hand for a special presentation at tonight’s BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2014.
The ceremony comes from the SSE Hydro, the first time the event has been held in Scotland.
The Helen Rollason Award, given in recognition of outstanding achievement in the face of adversity will be awarded to the 413 competitors from across the world who competed at this year’s Invictus Games.
The Prince, who founded the Games for injured, wounded and sick servicemen and women, will be joined on stage by more than 30 of those who took part.
“To be recognised with the Helen Rollason award is the icing on the cake,” said UK team captain Dave Henson. “The whole experience has been overwhelming and the support we’ve received has been utterly humbling.”
Teenage Blairgowrie golfer Bradley Neil is one of three contenders for the Young Sports Personality of the Year Award.
Nominees for the main category are golfer Rory McIlroy, footballer Gareth Bale, gymnast Max Whitlock, F1’s Lewis Hamilton, swimmer Adam Peaty, skeleton racer Lizzy Yarnold, boxer Carl Froch, dressage rider Charlotte Dujardin, athlete Jo Pavey and Paralympic skier Kelly Gallagher and her guide Charlotte Evans.
