Kim and Kanye really need to grow up

Time for Kanye West and Kim Kardashian to start behaving with some sense after a weird week.

I know that Kanye West and his wife Kim Kardashian inhabit a bizarre world full of photo opportunities and the plugging of the many products they endorse, but this week I reckon they both went too far.

Even if you don’t listen to the music or watch the reality TV shows, it is impossible to escape this couple at the best of times, but this week they were making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

First there was Kanye throwing his weight around at the Grammy’s, doing a mock invasion of the stage and being rude to Beck, the winner of the best album gong.

Kanye thought that Beck didn’t deserve the award and that it should have gone to his mate Beyonc, and of course he is entitled to his opinion, but he then went on to have an astonishing rant at the organisers for “disrespecting” Beyonc.

In fact the only one showing a decided lack of respect was Kanye himself who behaved badly and with a sense of entitlement that was quite breathtaking.

It wouldn’t matter so much if he wasn’t a role model to young people on both sides of the Atlantic who hold him in such high esteem.

With the sort of adulation afforded to him comes a sense of responsibility, so maybe he should think about being a little less arrogant.

A few days after the Grammy’s, wife Kim Kardashian was on the front row during New York Fashion week to view the new Kanye clothing collection.

This was a real A-lister event with Beyonc, Jay Z and Puff Daddy showing their support along with the doyenne of the fashion world, Vogue editor Anna Wintour all perched together in row one.

There was also an extra little guest in the form of Kim and Kanye’s cute toddler daughter North who not surprisingly was extremely bored with all the hooplah and promptly threw a tantrum.

Anna Wintour’s face is frosty at the best of times, but confronted with a wriggling, screaming baby, it really was a picture. This after all is the woman who was the inspiration behind the book and movie “ The Devil wears Prada”, and she isn’t exactly renowned for her patience.

Eventually Kim had to take her daughter backstage, but what on earth was she thinking bringing such a young child to sit in the front row of a fashion show, even if it is her dad’s range?

The poor kid is usually dressed up like a teeny tiny supermodel in head to toe designer gear, and I’m sure she would be happier just playing with her pals and wearing a comfy pair of leggings and a t-shirt.

I don’t get the whole Kardashian circus, but if people are happy to throw vast quantities of cash at Kim for showing her bottom then good luck to her, but maybe she and Kanye should start behaving with a bit more common sense and consideration for others.
