Failed talent show hopeful Bob Blakeley has quit his job to go in search of stardom.
The 56-year-old’s crooning dreams seemed to be in tatters when he didn’t win the support of any judges on The Voice.
But the grandad has turned his back on the chilled warehouse where he worked and is about to release his first album.
Delighted Bob said: “The show was recorded in October and when I realised none of the judges had turned, I was on a bit of a downer.
“But my wife kept saying to me that I should wait for people’s reactions when it was eventually shown on TV.
“And five minutes after I’d been on, I received a tweet from Chris Evans saying he couldn’t believe I hadn’t got through.”
The former taxi driver from Stockport recorded his album Performance with the Docklands Sinfonia orchestra.
He added: “I can’t see myself doing anything else now, this is what I want to do for a living. But, if it doesn’t work out, I’ll just have to go back to work.”
Album out on Monday.
