Still Game star reckons he knows what it’s like in The Beatles!

Ford likened the acclaim to being in the Fab Four.

Still Game star Ford Kiernan has likened being in the hit stage show to being a member of The Beatles.

Ford, 52, has been performing to record audiences at Glasgow’s Hydro.

And with a sell-out run of 21 shows ending on Friday night, he admitted last night that he’s dreading the end of it as he’s loved living like a pop star.

“My problem is that I’m addicted and I don’t want it to end,” said Ford, who has been packing in Jack and Victor fans with sidekick Greg Hemphill.

“It’s been mind-blowing. It’s like being in The Beatles. Being on the receiving end of a standing ovation from 10,000 is something you can’t ever expect. Honestly, it’s been insane.

“I’ve had a bit of a bug for a couple of days this week and there’s been no better tonic than getting on stage.”

Ford says next Saturday will be a major downer.

“I can see why pop stars go nuts at the end of a big tour. I don’t know how you replenish that adrenaline. I don’t think Red Bull’s going to cover it!

“You’re going to go, ‘What’s for tea? Egg and chips? Oh right, just another normal day in paradise then’.”

Ford’s hoping to move on to a new movie project. Previous film Songs For Amy, also starring Still Game’s Gavin Mitchell, is just out on Video On Demand this week.
