Simon and Garfunkel Story Rothes Hall, Glenrothes, Friday

The Simon and Garfunkel Story tells the fascinating tale of two young boys from Queens, New York, who went on to become the world’s most successful music duo of all time.

This amazing show takes you through all the songs and stories that shaped them, the dramatic split and their solo careers.

Starring London West End star Dean Elliott as Paul Simon and featuring all the hits including Mrs Robinson, Bridge Over Troubled Water and many, many more.

Other dates across Scotland, February 18-25.

Winter Astronomy Evenings Royal Observatory, Edinburgh, Friday

The dark nights of winter make Scotland a great place for stargazing.

Staff at the Royal Observatory will use their Meades telescopes to seek the most interesting objects, from planets to nebulae.

The team will also lead you through a

naked-eye guide to the night sky. Sadly they’re unable to observe when it is cloudy, raining or particularly windy (vibrations from the wind make it difficult to focus on objects). But in the event of bad weather, alternative activities will be arranged.

Rumours of Fleetwood Mac Empire Theatre, Inverness, Thursday

Recognised internationally as the leading tribute to Fleetwood Mac Rumours have founding member Mick Fleetwood’s seal of approval.

This show reflects on the band’s journey through changing eras and musical styles, from the ’60s London blues scene to worldwide commercial success in the ’70s and ’80s, and beyond.

Enjoy timeless classics such as Black Magic Woman, Albatross, Go Your Own Way, Dreams, Gypsy, Say You Love Me, Sara, Oh Diane, Little Lies, Everywhere and many more.

Sister Act Kings, Edinburgh, Wednesday-Saturday

The Bohemians amateur theatre company’s 2015 show is a rendition of Whoopie Goldberg’s smash-hit movie.

The New York Post labelled this feelgood musical comedy “ridiculously funny” and “has audiences jumping to their feet”.

Featuring music by eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken, Sister Act tells the story of Deloris van Cartier, a wannabe diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a crime and the police hide her in the last place anyone would think to look.

Three Men in a Boat Dundee Rep, Tuesday-Saturday

Following hit tours in 2012 and 2014, Craig Gilbert’s acclaimed adaptation of Jerome K Jerome’s classic tale of boating misadventure returns to the UK stage armed with more

singing, wilder adventures and even brighter blazers.

The ripping yarn of youthful friendship, mischief and folly was originally intended as a guide to boating on the Thames. It became

a celebration of the essence of Britishness, inspiring many comic legends from Morecambe & Wise to Monty Python.

Cake At cinemas from Friday

Jennifer Aniston turns her back on the

comedy roles she has previously been famous for to play Claire Bennett, a woman in constant pain following a car accident.

And the emotional drama is earning the

former Friends star the best reviews of her career.

Her body riddled with scars and having lost the desire to make anything of herself, unstable Claire becomes obsessed with the suicide of a woman (played by Anna Kendrick) at her chronic-pain support group.

Where Memories Go Kinning Park Church, Glasgow, Tuesday

TV presenter Sally Magnusson opens her heart about watching her mum slowly deteriorate as a result of dementia.

Sally previously said she has been watching her mother disappear for eight years, turning from a “vibrant, merry, intelligent, active, independent woman” to a shell of her former self.

The BBC presenter and her two sisters said it “has been more eye-opening and emotionally shattering than we believed possible”.

She’ll talk about the sadness, loneliness and unexpected joys of caring for her mother.

The Script Oil & Gas Arena, Aberdeen, Saturday

The Irish rockers are set to stop off in Aberdeen as part of their 2015 tour.

Frontman and former coach on The Voice Danny O’Donoghue will be joined on stage by guitarist Mark Sheehan and drummer Glen Power for a rendition of some of the band’s most successful hits, including Superheroes, Hall of Fame, Man Who Can’t Be Moved and many more.
