Amanda Lamb is hot property in the housing market

Amanda Lamb looks every inch the glamorous presenter in her new TV series.

Selling Houses with Amanda Lamb sees her help three homeowners move their hard-to-shift properties.

But that’s only half the life of the former face of Scottish Widows mum of two very young kids being the other half.

“We have a brilliant nanny who works for us three days a week and those are the days I work,” said Amanda, who has Willow, 5, and baby Lottie with husband Sean.

“The other four days I’m a mum, covered in mango puree and baby sick.”

Always chatty and friendly, there’s no mistaking the joy Amanda’s finding in being a mum at the double. But she does admit it can be a tough shift.

“When I was pregnant with Lottie everyone said to me it was just the same as having one they are clearly deranged,” laughs 41-year-old Amanda.

“It’s double, if not treble the work and I’ve had to become much more organised and ensure clothes and everything is looked out the night before.

“Otherwise it’s utter chaos. She’s a little hurricane but we are so blessed. We’ve got two beautiful, healthy children and couldn’t ask for anything more.”

Lottie arrived four days early last July 19, Amanda’s birthday.

“She was the best present ever. I think that from this birthday on Lottie will have the day and then I’ll go out for a grown up dinner at night.”

The new More4 series has former estate agent Amanda cast her expert eye over three houses and tell the owners why it hasn’t been selling.

“Some people have gone down the magnolia-with-everything approach where it lacks any personality.

“Or they have pink or purple kitchens. I give them ideas on how to improve things and then they have £1,000 and a week to make changes.”

Self-confessed property addict Amanda is on the hunt herself. While still keeping their London house, the couple are selling their holiday home in Italy and are looking for an alternative closer at hand.

“We bought it when we didn’t have children,” she explains.

“It was going to be a bolt-hole and we’d nip over for romantic holidays or I’d have girlie weekends.

“But then the girls came along and your priorities shift and it’s not so easy. I’m thinking of buying in Devon or Cornwall, so I’m on Rightmove every night.

“I’m obsessed with property. I watch the shows, present the shows and it’s just in my blood.”
