WE get to know the Corrie star a little bit better…

Why are you back in Coronation Street? I love my storylines. This week my character, Sarah-Louise, faces an unexpected, life-changing event. Filming it gave me goosebumps. Is she easier to play now she’s older? No, it’s more challenging. I had to do a drunk scene and that was really difficult. She has more issues now. Is privacy difficult? When I left Corrie there was no social media. Now people shout: “Selfie”, take a snap and don’t say anything. I try to have a conversation but they won’t. I sound old don’t I? Ever stolen a prop off the set? I should, but I haven’t. I raided the props department Halloween box though. A lot of the cast had their eye on the spanner from the live episode. Not sure where that ended up. Oddest thing a fan has said? Some are unprintable, but a guy once sent his bank book and passport and said: “You’ve got to write back now”. We contacted his mum. How do you handle bad auditions? I went for two auditions in one day and the first went really badly. I lost my confidence for the second one and there were lots of tears. The one role you would love? Something gritty. A strong woman in a period drama. Favourite actress alive or dead? I like older actresses such as Susan Sarandon and Helen Mirren. They’re mysterious and naturally feminine, not trying to be sexy. You did Strictly. Would you do reality TV again? Never say never, but there’s nothing out there that appeals. You’ve 24 hours left to live. How do you spend the time? When I was 12, I was fascinated by the Amazon rainforest. We did a lot of studies on it at school. I’d go there and explore the jungle, the river, the lot. Coronation Street, ITV, Mon, Wed, Fri,
