DO you expect me to talk, Ross?

No Mr Bond, I expect you toactually wait. I do expect you to talk!

Daniel Craig is everywhere right now thanks to another towering performance as the super-spy James Bond.

Being a massive fan of the series I was delighted to get a chance to interrogatesorry, chatto 007 in Mexico on the set of the latest brilliant entry into the Bond canon.

It really is a smashing movie and the Bond girls in this one might just be the best yet the gorgeous pairing of Monica Bellucci and Lea Seydoux.

Daniel was looking half-himself and half-007 he was wearing a tuxedo shirt along with a pair of jeans!

He’s probably the only man who can pull off such a look.

How far we’ve come from the days when people doubted that fair-haired Daniel could play MI6’s most famous agent.

But what a journey he’s had, from the fantastic debut of Casino Royale to the record-breaking Skyfall and now on to Spectre.

I think it’s because Daniel really seems to care about it.

He takes a role in production, writing and the direction of the character.

Daniel didn’t strike me as the type of guy who’d want to be asked about his favourite type of pizza, so I started off with a more serious question.

How has the character of Bond grown in the time he’s been in the role?

Daniel, who was just off the set, flashed a slightly panicked look the type you’d never you’d never see from the unflappable 007 himself.

“Um,” he stumbled. “Oh God, couldn’t you start with an easier question?”

We both burst out laughing I suggested I could ask him his favourite type of pizza, perhaps…?

It turned out to be a decent ice breaker.

“I never expected it to pan out like this,” he grinned. “How could I?

“I never thought we’d get the chance to explore Bond.

“Bringing director Sam Mendes in for the last one was key to it.

“We tried to create a language that was different from the other two films I did but still faithful to the idea of Bond.

“The ideas are still coming though. And if the ideas are still coming then we can make a movie.”

I said to Daniel that Sir Lawrence Olivier liked to build his character from the boots up. How did he go about building his own Bond?

“From the cufflinks,” he quipped.

“The fact that I get the chance to wear tailored suits by Tom Ford propels it to the next stage for me.”

“I’m 10 years older, we all change,” he said, looking back over the last 10 years.

“It’s a life-changing thing. I’m enjoying this one more than all the others put together.”Idris Elba won’t talk Bond but he makes a good Shere Khan! – click here to read more
