The best outcome for Rangers is Dave King and Mike Ashley to unite and lead the club forward.
Attempts from both parties to gain control of the Ibrox club have been described as a battle up until now and it has certainly been messy.
But it would be fantastic if Rangers could move forward with the two respected and wealthy businessmen at the helm.
And from listening to Dave King during the week when he flew into Glasgow to address the media, it certainly seems as though he is open to the idea of working together.
That, for me, was really encouraging. It seems as though he is extremely confident of receiving enough votes at the EGM in London. The supporters want to see him in control.
Regardless of what he does, the Rangers supporters will never accept Mike Ashley as the leading figure at their club. That is crystal clear. They will never back him or trust him.
What they would go for, I believe, is him working alongside the likes of King, Paul Murray and John Gilligan who are all in position to join the Board should they win the EGM.
I’ve always believed Ashley with his wealth and business expertise has the potential to be a major plus for Rangers.
You don’t want to turn people like that away if you can help it.
So it might be worth the Rangers supporters considering a joint venture if they want to see their club get back to the top level as quickly as possible.
Investment is certainly required.
But Dave King impressed me. He came across very well, and I don’t think there are any doubts whatsoever he has the best interests of the club at heart.
So, at long last, it looks as though there might be brighter days ahead for Rangers and their supporters.
