Plymouth midfielder Joe Edwards will miss the Sky Bet League Two visit of Morecambe through suspension.
Edwards picked up his fifth yellow card of the season during Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Cambridge and Pilgrims boss Ryan Lowe has urged “a few players to stake their claim in training” and take his place.
Lowe expects Callum McFadzean to sit out the Shrimps clash as he continues to recover from a knee injury suffered in the FA Cup draw with Bristol Rovers on December 1.
Conor Grant, Byron Moore and George Cooper are all options to fill in for McFadzean at left wing-back, with Grant starting the loss to Cambridge in that role before Moore assumed it in the second half.
Sam Lavelle remains banned as Morecambe boss Derek Adams returns to Home Park.
Defender Lavelle saw red in the 5-0 thumping at Crewe to land a four-match suspension from Shrimps duty.
Loanee Shaun Miller will push for a place in the starting XI after making his return to eligibility – he could not play against parent club Crewe – as a substitute in last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Carlisle.
Adams, who was sacked by Plymouth in April, has Kevin Ellison knocking on his door in pursuit of playing time, with John O’Sullivan likely to keep his place following his goal against the Cumbrians.
