THE SPFL have confirmed Hogmanay as the date for the next Old Firm game.

Rangers will host Celtic at Ibrox with a 12.15pm kick-off.

The game had already been scheduled for December 31, but it was anticipated that the date would be changed.

However, after consultation with Police Scotland, the game will go ahead on the date as planned.

The game will be broadcast on Sky Sports.

Last Saturday’s match saw the Hoops run out 5-1 winners in their first league meeting with Rangers since 2012.

The aftermath has seen the Ibrox board brand the behaviour of some Celtic fans a “sickening and shameful display of outright sectarian hatred”, while Rangers fans have also been condemned for the destruction of toilet facilities inside the stadium.
