A woman has died two days after the car she was a passenger in hit a tree.
The 74-year-old was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with critical injuries following the crash in Fife on Monday afternoon.
Police said on Wednesday she has now died while the 74-year-old man who was driving remains in a serious condition in the same hospital.
The red Vauxhall Corsa the pair were travelling in left the A985 at Cairneyhill at around 1.50pm on Monday and crashed into a tree.
Police said in a statement: “Officers are continuing to appeal for information and anyone who was driving on the road around the time of the crash who has dashcam footage is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1425 of Monday October 19.”
