Tracey Macdonald and Keith Simpson arrive to tie the knot with a motorcade of scooters

WITH this scooter, I thee wed. . .

Vespa enthusiasts Tracey Macdonald, 45, and Keith Simpson, 52, sparked an impromptu motorcade after tying the knot yesterday.

The pair are members of neighbouring scooter clubs and first locked eyes at a rally over Tracey’s purple Vespa two years ago.

More than 30 members from their clubs provided a two-wheeled guard of honour for their big day.

“Everyone seemed absolutely wowed,” said care home worker Tracey, from Buckhaven, Fife.

Their fabulous ’50s-style vintage wedding took place at Baxter Park Pavilion, Dundee.

Keith, a postman in their home town, said: “Tracey’s a stunner and a scooter fan.

“What more could a man want?

“She looked like she had stepped out of a glamorous ’50s movie.”

The stylish bride has been crazy about the cult form of transport since she was just eight years old.

She desperately wanted to arrive at the ceremony on her scooter, which she has nicknamed Gilbert.

However, with Dundee suffering several rain showers, she opted to make her way to the ceremony in a Daimler amid fears her lace wedding dress would get “splattered with mud”.

Their cake was topped with a scooter centrepiece and a couple of riders made to look like the happy couple.

Keith, said: “I was nervous but it was great to see the turnout of friends and their scooters!”
