Police have cordoned off several streets in Airdrie after a house partially collapsed following a fire.
Emergency services were called to reports of a fire in a detached house in Ewart Drive, Airdrie, at around 3:05am on Saturday.
Residents of eight nearby houses were evacuated, with four of the households now allowed to return.
A police spokeswoman said: “Emergency services remain at the scene and enquiries are continuing.
“The occupants of eight nearby houses were evacuated at the time as a precaution, however, four have since been allowed to return.
“The others remain with family and friends.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We were alerted at 3.08am on Saturday, June 27 to reports of a dwelling fire.
“Operations control mobilised six appliances and a number of specialist resources to Ewart Drive in Airdrie and firefighters extinguished the fire.
“The building has suffered a partial collapse and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service remains on the scene.”
