The water main in Meikle Inch Lane, in the Wester Inch estate, burst at around 8:20am today.
Both Leyland Road and Meikle Inch Lane have been closed by police following serious flooding concerns.
Police have asked parents not to pick up children from three schools in the area due to high levels of water in the streets.
Simpson Primary in Wester Inch has not been flooded but is within the area.
Blackburn schools Murrayfield Primary School and Our Lady of Lourdes Primary have limited water due to the burst.

Parts of Bathgate, Blackburn and Livingston are affected by a lack of water.
Local police officers are working with West Lothian Council, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Scottish Water to evacuate residents and stop the flooding.
