Mexican sports car firm Vuhl has unveiled a faster and lighter version of its 05 — the 05RR.
Based on the already hardcore track machine, the 05RR takes things up a notch. Power is boosted by 155bhp to 385bhp from its 2.3-litre, Ford-derived engine — which sits in a chassis weighing just 660kg, meaning a power-to-weight ratio of 583bhp per tonne. As a result, 0-60mph can be achieved in 2.7 seconds although no official top speed has been stated.

It’s more than just power upgrades here, though. The 05RR has a lower centre of gravity thanks to a repositioned powertrain, while a large rear wing has been fitted for extra downforce. Vuhl also says the interior has seen revisions to offer a more engaging driving experience.
Iker Echeverria, technical director at Vuhl, said: “The Vuhl 05RR is here. More exciting, more engaging and faster than ever before, this car is a real milestone in our company’s development.
“We have been listening to feedback, done some learning and quietly developing and evolving our offering for a number of years. The result is truly remarkable, a car that is devoid of restraint and an improvement in almost every area.”
The Vuhl 05RR is now available, although prices for the car have not been published. Expect to pay north of £70,000 to buy one, though.
