Are you a people pleaser?

Generally I think I am, but I try to stand my ground sometimes. I suppose I’m a people pleaser when it suits me.

Does living life publicly suit you?

I never really think about it. I have been singing in public for so long now, it’s like second nature. I go about my days as anyone else would, take the bus, talk to people I meet.

If you were king for a day, what law would you pass?

One that gives everyone enough. There is ample in the world to go round, it’s just that the distribution is not good.

What makes you angry?

Idle gossip. It serves no purpose and creates no good.

Strictly. An adventure or an ordeal?

Adventure definitely, although some days were an ordeal. Sometimes, I felt I’d never get through it or learn what I was supposed to.

Is this the start of an O’Donnell Reality TV career?

Absolutely not, this is it. Strictly is a show that I have always watched and enjoyed, it’s a ‘feel good’ family show.

Favourite duet?

With Loretta Lynn. When I listen to that song, I still can’t believe that I am singing with her and that she actually agreed to do it. I feel like the luckiest person on earth.

Does your faith remain constant?

It is the one thing in my life that has always been steady. For me, in times of need it is great to be able to look to a higher power.

The one person who you could never say thank you to enough?

My mother, who sacrificed so much. I could never thank her enough.

You have 24 hours left to live. How do you spend the time?

Back in Donegal among those people who are most important to me, and maybe a game of cards in the local hall. I’d like to think that I would sing one last time.
