Scotland kick off their World Cup campaign against England on Sunday.

Here, we take a look at everyone who’s made Shelley Kerr’s squad for the women’s team’s debut campaign.

GOALKEEPERS

Lee Alexander (Glasgow City) Age: 27 Caps: 17

Forms an impromptu singing duo with Chloe Arthur off the pitch. Her debut came in Shelley Kerr’s first match against Hungary in September, 2017, having been the understudy to Gemma Fay at Euro 2017.

Jenna Fife (Hibernian) Age: 23 Caps: 4

Says she has taken inspiration from fellow shot-stoppers Craig Gordon, David de Gea, and Kasper Schmeichel. But also Hope Solo, who won 202 caps for the United States.

Shannon Lynn (Vittsjo) Age: 33 Caps: 30

Despite her caps haul she has yet to play a competitive match for Scotland. Born in Canada to Scottish parents, she has been a squad regular since her first inclusion in 2010.

DEFENDERS

Chloe Arthur (Birmingham City) Age: 23 Caps: 19

Chloe Arthur

The full-back’s father, Gary, was one of the victims of the Clutha helicopter crash in Glasgow in 2013. She started out at Celtic, and had spells with Hibernian and Bristol City before going to Birmingham.

Jen Beattie (Manchester City) Age: 28 Caps: 124 (22 goals)

Jen Beattie

The centre-back has played professionally in France, England and Australia. Has beaten her dad, John, and brother, Johnnie – who both played rugby for Scotland – to appearing at a World Cup Finals.

Rachel Corsie (Utah Royals) Age: 29 Caps: 109 (16 goals)

Rachel Corsie

A fervent Aberdeen supporter, and the great-granddaughter of Pittodrie legend Donald Colman, who wasn’t capped until he was 33. Rachel, a qualified accountant, certainly beat him to national honours.

Nicola Docherty (Glasgow City) Age: 26 Caps: 19

Nicola Docherty

Enjoyed Glasgow City’s league win last season so much that she broke her medal! Regarded as the joker in the squad.

Sophie Howard (Reading) Age: 26 Caps: 14 (1 goal)

Sophie Howard

Played for the land of her birth, Germany, at Under-20 level and could also have played for England.

Her headed winner against Jamaica in midweek showed where her loyalties lie.

Hayley Lauder (Glasgow City) Age: 28 Caps: 99 (9 goals)

Hayley Lauder

Could make her 100th appearance at the World Cup. Previously a winger, but converted to play in either full-back position under Shelley Kerr, despite being left-sided.

Joelle Murray (Hibernian) Age: 32 Caps: 48 (1 goal)

Joelle Murray

Has a reputation for being the tidiest player in the squad!

Currently Hibernian captain and manager of their girls academy.

Kirsty Smith (Man United) Age: 25 Caps: 35

Kirsty Smith

One of Manchester United’s first signings, she shares a flat with Lizzie Arnot.

Speed is her biggest asset.

MIDFIELDERS

Lizzie Arnot (Man United) Age: 23 Caps: 25 (2 goals)

Done something no man has ever come close to by scoring five goals for Hibs in 9-0 SWPL Cup Final win over Celtic last year.

That helped get her a move south and she scored Manchester United’s first competitive goal in a League Cup win over Liverpool.

Leanne Crichton (Glasgow City) Age: 31 Caps: 64 (3 goals)

 Leanne Crichton

Owns her own personal training business, and is one of the part-time players who have benefited from Scottish Government funding.

Kim Little (Arsenal) Age: 28 Caps: 133 (53 goals)

Kim Little

A legend. The Aberdonian has won league titles in England, USA, Australia and Scotland.

Represented Great Britain at the 2012 Olympics, and was Player of the Year in England (2010) and the US (2014).

Jo Love (Glasgow City) Age: 33 Caps: 191 (13 goals)

Jo Love

Only Gemma Fay, with 203 caps, has played more often for Scotland.

Manager Shelley Kerr was a team-mate when she made her debut at the 2002 Algarve Cup.

Christie Murray (Liverpool) Age: 29 Caps: 61 (4 goals)

Christie Murray

A big player, quick and clever – but only 5ft 2in tall!

Started her career as a 16-year-old while on a scholarship in Tennessee, and joined Liverpool this season.

Caroline Weir (Man City) Age: 23 Caps: 63 (8 goals)

Caroline Weir

Has a wand of a left foot, and can make the whole team tick.

Named top player in Manchester City’s Continental Cup final win over Arsenal earlier this year.

Her dad started Hibs’ girls team back in the day.

FORWARDS

Fiona Brown (FC Rosengard) Age: 24 Caps: 37 (2 goals)

Fiona Brown

She has played in Sweden since 2016, and has recovered from anterior cruciate ligament injuries in both knees.

Lana Clelland (Fiorentina) Age: 26 Caps: 25 (3 goals)

Lana Clelland

Set the Serie A on fire in 2016/17 when she finished top scorer, and wants to be a firefighter when she retires.

Came off the bench on Tuesday night for her first cap since January due to injury.

Erin Cuthbert (Chelsea) Age: 20 Caps: 30 (10 goals)

Erin Cuthbert

Got a taste of the big time early on when she was a Scotland mascot while still at primary school.

Helped Chelsea to this season’s Champions League semi-finals and was named their player of the season.

Claire Emslie (Orlando Pride) Age: 24 Caps: 21 (3 goals)

Claire Emslie

Taking a scholarship in Florida meant there were four years between her first cap in 2013 and her second.

Has just left Manchester City to join Orlando.

Lisa Evans (Arsenal) Age: 27 Caps: 78 (17 goals)

Lisa Evans

What does she have in common with Alan “Rambo” McInally?

Prior to joining Arsenal, she won the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich.

Jane Ross (West Ham) Age: 29 Caps: 127 (58 goals)

Jane Ross

Only Julie Fleeting has scored more goals for Scotland – and not all Jane’s brains are in her feet.

She’s deferred a degree in philosophy at the University of Stirling to focus on her playing career.
