A whole latte love: Kevin Bridges has ‘bean’ struck by cupid’s arrow

STAND-UP comedian Kevin Bridges appears to have found love over the coffee beans – with the boss of a posh cafe.

The Clydebank-born funnyman is dating Kerry Monaghan, 32, the manager of Epicures of Hyndland, his favourite hangout in Glasgow’s West End.

Coffee lover Bridges – who has a £1m showcase home nearby – is a regular at the fancy eating spot, where a full Scottish breakfast costs £9.50.

The 30-year-old comic has been spotted at Epicures numerous times with pal and fellow stand-up Frankie Boyle, 44.

It is believed romance between the coffee shop lovebirds blossomed a number of months ago.

They had been spotted out socialising and enjoying a date at Celtic Park.

And the loved-up pair celebrated Valentine’s Day with a lavish meal last week.

Bridges – who’s worth in excess of £4.2m thanks largely to his sell-out shows and DVD sales – took Kerry to celebrity chef Tom Kitchin’s restaurant in Edinburgh.

They enjoyed an £80-a-head tasting menu of razor clams, scallop, pig’s head and langoustine, lamb, rhubarb and petit fours washed down with champagne.

Kevin and Kerry even went into the kitchen to meet Tom and his team after their meal.

But, although Bridges allowed a picture to be taken of himself in the restaurant, he made sure Kerry was cropped out of the picture.

He told his 1.2 million Twitter followers: “What a feed!!! Big Tom’s the man!”

However, the secret was out after curly-haired cook Tom – whose restaurant The Kitchin is a major celeb magnet – posted an unedited picture of the happy pair on social media.

He appeared to quote Kevin in a post on his Instagram account. “Roses are red, violets are blue, I phoned up Tom Kitchin and got a table for two … Hilarious Kevin Bridges. What a pleasure to cook for you both.”

One of Kerry’s pals wrote: “Look at you x” after viewing the delightful snap of the trio, and Kerry replied: “Best Valentine’s night ever, hands down. Thank you sir x.”

Friends are thrilled for the pair, with one anonymous friend telling The Sunday Post: “They’re both very happy together, a really nice normal down to earth couple. Everyone wishes Kevin and Kerry nothing but all the best.”

Bridges previously dated writer Susan Riddell, 33. They lived together in the star’s stunning home and pals thought wedding bells might have been in the air after they acquired a new addition to their “family” – an abandoned golden Labrador called Annabell.

They dated on and off for more than six years.

In 2014, Bridges told chat show host Jonathan Ross: “I dated her for two years then we split up for two years and now we’ve been back for two years. We are a bit like the Ryder Cup.

“We are moving in together and we have actually been trying for a dog. We got her this week.

“It’s a Labrador that we adopted from the Dogs Trust.

“We went ethical.”

Scots Squad star Darren Connell has talked previously about the star’s love of a good strong brew.

“I still talk to him every now and again and get a coffee with him,” he’s said. “He’s the most down-to-earth, genuine person I’ve ever met.”

Bridges and Kerry could not be reached for comment.
