THE Sunday Post picked up a number of accolades at last night’s Scottish Press Awards.

We were delighted to be named Newspaper of the Year, and we also won Front Page of the Year for our Smyllum coverage.

It was quite a night for our reporter Gordon Blackstock, who picked up both the Journalist of the Year and Reporter of the Year awards.

His hard work on the Smyllum case also earned The Sunday Post the Scoop of The Year prize.

In September, we revealed the story of hundreds of victims at the former Lanarkshire children’s home, many of whom were forgotten for decades.

Our reporter Marion Scott was the runner-up for the Nicola Barry Award and Kieran Andrews accepted the Campaign of the Year Award for his work at our sister title The Courier on Frank’s Law.

Sunday Post editor Richard Prest said: “What a night… a massive well done to team for their effort over the last 12 months.”
