Scottish football transfer rumours: Hibs want early return for Scott Allan, Rangers offer US midfielder deal, no Wigan approach for Aberdeen captain

HIBS want to bring Scott Allan back to the club this month, having secured his signature on a pre-contract deal.

Allan will return for his third spell at the club in the summer but Neil Lennon hopes to have him to bolster his squad sooner. (The Sun)

Lennon is also keen on adding a winger and a goalkeeper before the window shuts. (The Scotsman)


US international Matt Polster has been offered a deal at Rangers, Steven Gerrard has revealed.

The Chicago Fire midfielder, who can also play full-back, appears to have impressed enough on trial with the club in recent weeks.


Interest from clubs including Dundee in a loan deal for Gers midfielder Ross McCrorie has been rebuffed by Gerrard.

The Ibrox boss reckons the youngster is a future Rangers captain, having been impressed with his performances in recent games.

Ross’ goalkeeper twin brother Robbie, meanwhile is set for a loan move this window, as is Jordan Rossiter, who is interesting Fleetwood and Dundee United. (Daily Record)


Dundee have beaten Falkirk and Barnsley to the signing of Sunderland striker Andy Nelson.

The 21-year-old has joined on a two-and-a-half-year deal for an undisclosed fee. (Evening Telegraph)


Kilmarnock boss Steve Clarke says he’s still keen on bringing Birmingham City’s Greg Stewart back to the club, but has admitted that the the decision lies with Blues. (Birmingham Mail)

Aberdeen are also keen on bringing Stewart in on a permanent deal.


Wigan have not made an approach for Aberdeen skipper Graeme Shinnie, according to manager Derek McInnes.
