Scottish football transfer rumours: Celtic’s Scott Brown turns down initial Australia offer, Swansea linked with Rangers midfielder, Gauld on verge of Hibs move

CELTIC captain Scott Brown has turned down an initial offer from Western Melbourne, according to The Scottish Sun.

The Australian side are expected to make a further, improved offer for the 33-year-old.

The Hoops, meanwhile, look set to make a further bid for striker Vakoun Issouf Bayo, having had a second bid of £1.8m for the Ivorian striker rejected by his Slovakian club Dunajska Streda. (Evening Times)


Dundee’s Glen Kamara (SNS Group)

The Herald reports that two Premiership players are close to signing pre-contract deals with Rangers.

Kilmarnock’s Jordan Jones and Dundee midfielder Glen Kamara are expected to undergo medicals and agree terms before free transfers to Ibrox in the summer.

Ross McCrorie, meanwhile, has emerged as a transfer target for Swansea City.

The Scottish Sun reports that the youngster is on the Championship side’s radar, and will be scouted after the winter break.

Ayr United’s Lawrence Shankland has also been linked with a move to Wales.

Dundee United will make striker Aidan Nesbitt their first signing of the transfer window, according to The Courier.

The 21-year-old former Celtic striker left MK Dons by mutual consent on Wednesday and the Tangerines are keen to lure him back north.

Former United star Ryan Gauld, meanwhile, is on the verge of a return to Scottish football.

According to Sky Sports, the 23-year-old Sporting Lisbon midfielder will head to Easter Road for the rest of the season.

He’s currently on loan at Portuguese second tier side Farense.

Jayden Stockley’s move from Exeter to Preston North End is expected to land former club Aberdeen a cash bonus of up to £150,000, reports the Evening Express.

The Dons will benefit from a sell-on clause installed in the striker’s contract during his transfer from Pittodrie to Exeter in summer 2017.
