Scottish music fans are being urged to back two of their own in a worldwide battle of the bands.

After winning their heat in Glasgow last month, Sara ‘N’ Junbug and Moonlight Zoo are vying with another ten bands worldwide to finish in the top three and win a trip to New York.

Music fans across the globe can vote in the competition, which also awards the top acts the chance to perform in front of top music executives on their trip Stateside.

From there, one act will be crowned the overall winner and awarded a prize of $15,000.

Moonlight Zoo

Moonlight Zoo, still on a high from their Glasgow win, said: “We are absolutely ecstatic to be through to the next round.

“It is definitely one of the greatest opportunities any of us has ever been offered, and we plan on doing absolutely everything we can to try and get enough votes to make it to the final three.

“It will undoubtedly be tough competing against all the other winners from across the globe, but we believe in our music and don’t see why we couldn’t make it all the way.”

Sara ‘N’ Junbug

Speaking about their win, Sara ‘N’ Junbug said: “We feel totally honoured and extremely excited to have gotten through to the next round of the competition and can’t wait to represent Glasgow on the voting system.

“As always, the SNJ supporters have backed us the full way and we’re so lucky to have such an amazing bunch of folk who come to our shows.

“This competition is a massive opportunity for the band. As we’re unsigned we don’t have folk paying our way for us. The prize money would allow us to have so much more marketing options and help with our upcoming singles!”

All performances are available online for fans to watch and decide, with voting open until May 15 at www.hardrock.com/2019botb
