Scots band Moonlight Zoo win huge prize in worldwide Hard Rock Cafe battle of the bands

A Scots band have scooped a $15,000 prize after coming out on top in a global battle of the bands.

Moonlight Zoo, from Dunfermline, were announced as winners of the worldwide Hard Rock cafe competition last night in New York.

Having won a heat against other bands from back home in Scotland, they won enough public votes to make it into the final three.

The band were flown out to the Big Apple, where they battled it out against bands from Nashville and Curitiba, Brazil.

After they performed in front of leading music industry executives, they bagged the top prize and fly back to Scotland $15,000 richer.

Moonlight Zoo are made up of Jamie Adamson, Reece Dobbin, Sean Defrancesco and Graeme Mcleod.

They released their latest single, Survive, earlier this week.
