Ryan Dow wants Ross County to adopt similar game plan against Celtic

RYAN DOW reckons Ross County should go with the same game plan they used on Celtic’s last visit to Dingwall – even though his side ended up losing 4-0.

The Ladbrokes Premiership champions take on County on Sunday and Dow reckons the Hoops were flattered by the winning margin last October.

Brendan Rodgers’ men netted inside the opening three minutes through Patrick Roberts but were put under some considerable pressure as Jim McIntyre’s Staggies tried to hit back.

With goalkeeper Craig Gordon in fine form, though, the Parkhead side were able to soak up everything the Highlanders could throw at them before netting three times in the final seven minutes.

However, despite the painful scoreline Dow believes McIntyre should dust down the tactical blueprint he used late time out.

He said: “We played them up here earlier in the season but got beat 4-0.

“However, I don’t think there were really four goals in it.

“We conceded an early goal but we kept playing and were hitting them on the counter-attack.

“We were creating chances but Craig Gordon made a couple of saves and then in the last few minutes they broke away and scored three more.

“But that was only because we were going for it so much.

“Hopefully this weekend we can play similarly to that last game up here – but this time take our chances.”

Dow hopes he will be given the nod to face the Glasgow giants after finally working his way back into McIntyre’s line-up.

He added: “I was glad to get back in the team. It’s been hard as I’ve only been involved coming off the bench for a while.

“But I was happy with my performance at the weekend (against Hamilton) and there’s obviously a big game coming up on Sunday, so hopefully I can keep my place.”
