GOALKEEPER David de Gea looks set to remain at Manchester United with a new £350,000-a-week contract, according to The Sun.
The deal will last for another five years, the paper says, with the 27-year-old expected to sign before the World Cup this summer. If negotiations are successful, De Gea would become United’s second highest earner and it is thought to be enough to discourage him from leaving for Real Madrid, who are said to have shown interest.
Mauricio Pochettino could become one of the best paid Premier League managers with a new deal at Tottenham, the Telegraph says. Spurs are said to be confident that the boss will commit to a new contract as well as a host of star players including Dele Alli, Harry Kane, Jan Vertonghen, Hugo Lloris, Son Heung-min and Christian Eriksen.
However, the same may not be said for Belgium international Toby Alderweireld. According to the Mail, Paris St Germain are prepared to match the 29-year-old’s demands for a five-year £200,000-a-week deal. Talks with Tottenham are said to have collapsed, with the club unwilling to pay almost double their current wage limit, or for such a lengthy time due to the defender’s age, the paper says.
After Monday’s sacking of Alan Pardew, speculation is mounting over who will replace the former West Brom manager. The Times reports the top contenders for the summer handover are Michael Appleton and Dean Smith, with Albion facing almost certain relegation from the Premier League. Ex-Baggies players Derek McInnes, Craig Shakespeare and Graham Potter are also said to be in the running to take the helm at the Hawthorns.

Antonio Conte: Rumours continue to swirl around the Chelsea manager’s future at Stamford Bridge, with the Mirror reporting the 48-year-old is eager to leave the club at the end of the season. According to former Blues striker and manager Gianluca Vialli, Conte “can’t wait to leave”, the paper says, with the Italian Football Federation reportedly keen to see him back with the national team.
Wilfried Kanon: Everton may have to be prepared to battle Real Betis, Villarreal and Eibar for the signature of ADO Den Haag’s Kanon, The Sun reports. Sam Allardyce is known to be looking to bolster his defensive options this summer, but the three Spanish clubs are all said to be interested in the Ivory Coast international, who will reportedly command a £2million fee at the end of the season.
