MILLIONS will enjoy the perfect end to Boxing Day with laughs aplenty in the Outnumbered Christmas special.

But star Tyger Drew-Honey has told iN10 how the thought of the show ending reduced him to tears.

The BBC sitcom first hit our screens away back in 2007, with Hugh Dennis and Claire Skinner as the parents trying to cope with their three young kids.

At the time Tyger, who plays Jake, was just 11 and Daniel Roche and Ramona Marquez, who play Ben and Karen, were much younger still.

As the youngsters grew, though, it all came to an end after the 2014 series. And Tyger, now 20, says it was tough.

“When we finished the last series there was a great sense of sadness,” he says.

“It was the feeling of coming to the end of an era you wanted to go on forever.

“There was a chance we’d do more, but there was no certainty. So I did have tears in my eyes when the final wrap was called on that series.”

Happily, the Brockman clan have been reunited again, with car problems and much else resulting in them having a Boxing Day to remember.

“It was really nice to be back,” says Tyger. “Because of the story we weren’t really at the house but the atmosphere was the same and we had a lot of the crew who’d been there through all the series.

“I’ve met up with the kids since the last series and I’ve seen Claire but it’s been three years since we were all together.

“We’ve done it so long that we do slip back into the familiarity so quickly.

“It was quite sad on the last day again because I wish we could always do it as it’s so much fun. But there was also a lot of hugs and whooping too.”

Viewers will notice a massive difference in all three of the Brockman’s children and Tyger says he sees that too.

“Even though I saw Dan and Ramona just a few months ago, there’s a huge change.

“Ramona’s 15 and she was talking about her mock GCSEs and Dan’s 17 and was telling me about American history.

“I think back to the early episodes and them almost being babies.”

Before filming the special I was watching some of the old episodes with my mum.

“I wasn’t surprised by how young we all look, but I think I didn’t really appreciate at the time just how special it all was.”
