NFL star J.J Watt continues to smash fundraising targets in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.

The Houston Texans defensive end has helped to raise an incredible $12 million dollars so far, with that total set to rise and rise.

In the wake of the storm’s devastating impact on parts of Texas, he took to Twitter to try to help out in any way he could.

Donations hit a $200,000 target within a couple of hours and celebrity backers including Ellen DeGeneres and Miley Cyrus helped push the total into the millions.

The Tennessee Titans also donated a million dollars to the relief effort.

Watt, who has also made his own personal donation, told CNN: “I’m not just here for the initial fundraiser, I’m here to make sure that we take care of [those affected] down the road.”

The next goal is £15 million dollars.
