Rarely a day goes by when Sarah Smith doesn’t head out into nature for an adventure.
If you can’t find her searching for a spot to hang her hammock on her lunch break, she might be in the middle of a loch on her paddle board or cooking up a storm in the woods.
Based in Stirling, secluded spots are never too far away. We asked Sarah for her top three spots to visit while out exploring.
Mellon Udrigule Beach
I have grown up going to this beautiful beach every summer, for as long as I can remember. It is slightly off of the beaten track, and a small detour from the NC500, but it is definitely worth it if you’re looking for white sands, clear water, and plenty of walks in the surrounding area.
Loch Lubnaig
This wee loch just north of Callander is a perfect spot for paddleboarding and, if you’re feeling brave, a cold dip. If you need to warm up afterwards there is a handy takeaway cafe, providing hot drinks, breakfast rolls and paninis.
The Beachcomber Fish and Chip Shop
The Beachcomber is a family run fish and chip shop the lovely village of Gairloch. Their menu includes all of the chippy classics, perfect to be enjoyed after a day exploring the beautiful north west coast.
