My Favourite Holiday: Luxury, history and a spot of pampering for Real Housewives of Cheshire star Perla Barton

ONE of two new faces on ITVBe’s hugely popular Real Housewives Of Cheshire, Perla Barton is married to self-made millionaire Jonathan Barton.

They live in a lavish mansion in Wilmslow with their children from previous relationships and their 12-year-old daughter.

Real Housewives Of Cheshire returns for a new series, tonight at 10pm on ITVBe.

MY holidays have been a real contrast, from the incredibly luxurious to being side by side with the most basic of conditions.

I love being pampered in five, or even seven-star hotels. The most stunning one of those is the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

We stayed there for a week last Easter and it is quite spectacular.

You have your own private apartment with a cook and other staff and nothing is too much trouble. It’s so beautiful.

India is somewhere else I love, but it is so different.

It’s busy and crazy and the air is full of aromas.

It’s one of those places where you can sense a rawness and being really close to the people, which is unlike other places where you feel more remote and isolated.

So, when we are there I go to the markets, which are unbelievably cheap.

The last time, we “adopted” a street dog. We spent three weeks there last Christmas and this dog – who I called Cookie – was owned by someone who had stall at the market.

I used to go to get fresh fruit every morning and he took to following us everywhere.

We fed him and looked after him and then made sure he got safely back “home” before we left. I think he loved being pampered as much as I normally do!

The other type of holiday I love is cruising. I can’t get enough of it, that thrill of waking up in different places.

Greece, Italy and Turkey are some of our favourite places.

When we’re in Italy, even though I’ve been as many as four or five times a year, I still go back to Rome as there’s always a fresh bit of history.

And being a food-loving Latino, it’s hard to think of anywhere better.

The other place that draws us back in Italy is Sorrento.

It’s such a lovely little town and when we’re there we always try and rent a car and see as much of the area as we can.

It’s just our perfect family destination.
