MRS Brown’s Boys star Gary Hollywood has tied the knot with his real-life sweetheart in a surprise wedding.

The Glasgow-born actor, who plays Dino Doyle in the multi award-winning comedy show, caught everyone by surprise after inviting 300 guests to celebrate fiancee Cherylanne McCutcheon’s 30th birthday.

At the celebrations, at a top Renfrewshire hotel last weekend, Gary stunned guests, saying: “You thought you were all here for a surprise birthday party.

“But the surprise is on all of you because we’re getting married!”

As the delighted crowed cheered, Cherylanne appeared in a beautiful bridal gown, and the couple exchanged vows.

The happy couple

Gary, 39, said: “Cherylanne found out I’d been arranging her surprise birthday party, so we decided why not get married because everyone we love and care about will be there.

“It’s been a nightmare keeping everything secret, even from our families.

“On the night, only our bridesmaids and my eldest son Zach knew because he was my best man.

“I hadn’t even told anyone from the Mrs Brown’s Boys cast, especially not my on-screen husband Rory because he’s got such a wicked sense of humour, who knows what he would have done!”

Cherylanne said: “I was so happy, I wanted to shout from the rooftops that we were getting married. But I had to stay quiet.”
