Maisie Adam wins So You Think You’re Funny at Edinburgh Fringe

CONGRATULATIONS are in order for Yorkshire comic Maisie Adam, who has become the milestone 30th winner of a comedy newcomer competition at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Following heats across the country, Maisie Adam won So You Think You’re Funny 2017, with Sarah Mann coming in as first runner-up and Morgan Rees coming in as second runner-up.

The So You Think You’re Funny? Grand Final was compered by 2013’s winner Aisling Bea and is presided over by a panel of judges comprised of industry experts, including special guest judge and former winner David O’Doherty.

Maisie is in good company – previous award winners include Ivo Graham, Tom Allen, Miles Jupp, Rob Rouse, Peter Kay, Dylan Moran and Rhona Cameron.

2016’s winner Heidi Regan was recently awarded the BBC New Comedy Award 2017.

Maisie will receive a cash prize of up to £2500, a trip to perform at Montreal’s Just for Laughs Festival 2018, a trip to perform at Bergen’s Humour Fest 2018, a complimentary professional headshot photoshoot by Steve Ullathorne, filmed copy and professional photographs of the winner’s spot from the Grand Final to use in their show reel alongside mentorship and support from Karen Koren and the So You Think You’re Funny? team.
