LA man gets married… to his mobile phone

LOTS of us spend more time on our smartphones and tablets than we ought to.

But one bloke from Los Angeles has taken it a few steps further — right down the aisle, in fact!

Aaron Chervenak drove the love of his life all the way to Las Vegas, Nevada, to finally tie the knot.

With his smartphone.

He even had a ring for his phone, which he clearly is utterly devoted to.

Yes, we know there’s a joke about “getting an engaged tone” in there, but we were too lazy to come up with one.

Recent studies suggest that Aaron isn’t the only one so smitten with his device.

Internet security giants Kaspersky found that one in four people rated their smart phone equally important or even more so than, for instance, their own parents.

Yes, bet they don’t admit that when they call Mum or Dad for a loan!

Phones are, for many, the first thing we interact with in the morning and the last thing we interact with at night when setting alarms and so on.

Aaron, a bit disturbingly, says all of this led to him feeling his longest relationship had been with his phone, and it therefore felt only right to go on and marry it.

And so it was that the freakiest wedding of the year — and that’s saying something in LA — took place at the famous Little Las Vegas Chapel.

Aaron wore his hired tuxedo, though we’re not certain how the phone dressed, and they drove there in a purple Cadillac.

It was a low-key event, not a lot of guests, but Aaron admits to getting nervous during his speech, especially as it’s not legal to marry a phone and there was always the worry that the cops could come banging on the door at any minute.

Hmmm…
