XpoNorth has announced the line-up for this year’s showcase of up and coming Scottish musical talent.

The Inverness-based event, which serves as a conference for creative industries, will see some of the most exciting artists from the Highlands and Islands and the rest of Scotland perform across a host of city centre venues.

Taking place across the 3rd and 4th of July, the live programme will also feature two acts from Finland and Germany selected through XpoNorth’s EXCITE partnership.

A host of talent selected to perform at this year’s event will also be offered slots on the XpoNorth Stage at the multi-award winning Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival.

Among the rising stars from the Scottish music scene featured include The Dazed Digital Age, Emme Woods, Mt. Doubt, LaKyoto and Scarlett Randle.

Iain Hamilton, Head of Creative Industries at Highlands and Islands Enterprise, said: “The live showcase element remains an extremely important aspect of XpoNorth and offers a fantastic platform for talent to access a global network of industry professionals- in addition to developing their audience more broadly.

“It also brings an incredible energy and highlights the diversity and vibrancy of the venue infrastructure in the city. It’s key that the conference remains a great destination to connect new talent with leading buyers, partners and music consumers and we’re delighted with the quality and range of the acts invited to perform this year.”

As well as music, XpoNorth covers craft, fashion and textiles; writing and publishing; screen and broadcast; and digital and technology.

All elements of the festival are completely free, with Delegate Registration and Music and Film Submissions open from January 2019.

Last year’s event saw over 2,000 delegates attend from across the creative sector, with 34 seminars featuring a host of leading local, national and international speakers.

XpoNorth is funded by Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), City-Region Deal (Cumhnant Baile-Roinne) and The Northern Innovation Hub and is delivered by Ironworks Venue.
