An electrical issue has forced the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum to close its doors to the public.

Urgent repairs are being carried out at the building, which would normally be welcoming hundreds of visitors with the school holidays underway.

The announcement was made at 9:30 am, with the museum usually opening at 10am.

A statement from the venue on Twitter said: “Please note due to urgent repairs Kelvingrove is currently closed.

“We are working as quickly as possible to rectify the issue and will update this page as soon as we know when the venue will reopen.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience.”
