SILENT WITNESS actress Emilia Fox has said she is “in awe” of co-star Liz Carr after she was stabbed in the head by a scissor-wielding attacker.

The actress, who portrays scientist Clarissa Mullery in the popular TV show, was reportedly lunged at by a man near Euston station in central London last week.

Fox said she was keen to get back to working with Carr at their fictional workplace quickly.

She wrote on Twitter: “As always, in awe of you @thelizcarr . Let’s get back to the Lyell asap. Sending you HUGE amounts of love #SaveTheNHS.”

Comedian Susan Calman, who will compete on Strictly Come Dancing this year, also sent a message of support, writing: “Just heard about what happened. Hope you’re ok, sending all the love in the world.”

Carr has said she is looking forward to returning to work and paid tribute to the NHS staff who helped her.

She said: “Thanks to everyone who has sent their love and good wishes following last week’s stabbing.

“Just to reassure you that whilst it was very frightening at the time, I came out of it relatively unscathed and was even back home later that night.

“Looking forward to returning to filming on Silent Witness next week where thankfully all the violence is fake!”

She added on Twitter: “I want to say an extra Thank You to the amazing paramedics, ambulance crew & A&E staff #SaveTheNHS”

A suspect in his 20s was arrested by officers on suspicion of GBH and taken into custody at a north London police station, the Metropolitan Police said.

A spokesman said the man has since been detained under the Mental Health Act.

He added: “Officers were called to Euston Road at 8.21pm on Thursday August 10 to reports of a man attacking two women with scissors.

“The two women were taken to hospital suffering minor cuts and subsequently discharged.”

Carr suffers from rare genetic condition arthrogryposis multiplex congenital and has been in a wheelchair since the age of seven.
