Edinburgh Fringe Review: Dominic Frisby’s Financial Gameshow comes close to hitting the jackpot

FANCY winning £500 at the Fringe?

That’s the prize on offer in Dominic Frisby’s Financial Gameshow, a fun hour of financial trivia (and a lot of guesswork).

The wonderfully named Frisby is a decent host, guiding the audience through some simple games with tricky questions based around money.

He had a decent connection with most of the audience –  albeit one was his dad.

The show sees audience members whittled down to several contestants by a series of heads or tails questions to play a variety of nearest to and higher or lower style games.

Prizes on offer include silver, bitcoin, a subscription to MoneyWeek magazine (what a prize) and the grand prize of £500 in cold hard cash.

At times it drags a little and there’s room to add a little more substance to it, but it’s fun to play along with and a good way to while away an hour and learn some pub quiz facts in the process.

Today’s contestant even walked away with the jackpot… and sadly it wasn’t me.

Verdict:

A slight clumsiness to the production adds to the charm of this fun comedy quiz show. It’s something a little different, and you’ll end up richer for the experience – even if you don’t land the jackpot.
